Introduction: I would absolutely love to join this meetup group because i have a pekingese! she's the cutest, well actually i was looking at the photos on this group and all those peke's are just too darn cute. i'm in my young 20s and i love dogs more than anythin
What is your pekingese's favorite food? favorite toy?: Chloe has crystals in her urine [possibly not anymore due to her changed diet, been on it for a while but the vet said i can keep her on it i'd like... it's $50 a bag... but i do it anyway because i love my baby] so she eats a bit of canned food, which i never really liked feeding dogs but since she has problems i do it, and she has dry food. She loves rawhides. She has such white and beautiful teeth. She really likes plain rawhites, peanutbutter rawhides [a new found love] and sweet potato sticks, i've been trying to get her to like. she does not eat biscuits. As for toys, Chloe has so many! She really likes this peacock that i gave her, that's almost the size of her. She also loves this baby elephant and baby hippo toy that i keep in the bedroom for her. she hates when i put them together to kiss, she goes and jumps on ella [the elephant].
Does your pekingese have any health or behavior that maybe we could help improve?: Chloe has a knee problem, and she also barks a lot and does not like strangers! which is okay sometimes because she is an excellent guard dog but she also doesn't let anyone near her unless it's in the family. she lives with my husband and i and our inlaws, and she visits my parents a lot too. she loves car rides and other than that she is housetrained and amazing, she just barks and she does have a bit of attitude problem and can be a bit mean to us too, but i hope with age it gets better.
What other pets do you have? How do they get along with your pekingese?: I have a japanese chin [male] that doesn't live with us right now and he's 6 months old. I've had him since beginning of april but he lives with my parents because my inlaws don't want another dog right now.He does love my peke though, she can be very aggressive and loves to "hump" him and the pug. The japanese chin is very laid back, he has a great temperament and he doesn't mind the other dog, especially since right now he lives with a shih tzu, cairn and pug.
Please tell us about your pekingese, name, age, and a cute little story about what they do that makes them so adorable.: My pekingese is named Chloe [Chloe Cheyenne Paris], or otherwise known as Princess Chloe, Chlo-Chlo, or baby. She was born May 28, 2008. She does way too many cute things. When you say "wanna go for a walk, wanna go for a walkie?" she rolls over and lets you put the leash on. When she wants to go for a walk, she goes to where the leashes hang, and grabs onto it, so you will take her. If she is hungry, she'll go upto you and bark and try and get you to follow her [which i understand] and then she goes and barks at the person eating in the kitchen. She sleeps on my pillow, and she won't let any males and females kiss in the house. We always tease saying that our mans aren't ours but her boyfriends. If you sit next to your significant other she will jump on the couch and sit between you and ifyou kiss him, she'll jump up and start kissing him. Oh, i miss my mooshy baby! [at work]
