If you know anyone that needs to get any dog or cat spayed or neutered and can't afford the $100.00 to $200.00 (depending where you live) there is an important program to know about. It is www.friendsofanimals.org They have a program where you can purchase a certificate online for around $50.00 and they will give you several vets in your zipcode that work with them and will spay/neuter your pet and treat them as if you were paying the full price. I've used this myself on my 3 little kittens, cause I couldn't afford to get 3 kittens all fixed at the same time. My friend, Phil who lives close to JFK airport in queens, he was helping someone rescue feral (cats who noone owns & they live wild on the streets or woods). or like near the Aquaduct Racetrack. They trap the cats and then take them to one of these volunteer vets to have them fixed. The female cat unfortunately just stays in heat until she gets pregnant again and again So if the cats can be tamed they go to volunteer foster homes to getthem used to people. If the cats are too wild, after they are fixed, they release them. So anyway, thats how I know about this program and wanted to make sure everyone knows about it and can tell their friends because it really helped me a lot.Sylvia & Shanghai "We need another wiser & more mystical concept of animals. They are not underlings, they are another nation caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow travelers of the splendor and travail of the earth." ----Henry Beston |
